There is no hotter house market than the Mid-North Coast at the moment, with one of the region’s newest housing estates selling out in record time.
New land is being bought quicker than it can be released along the Mid-North Coast as home buyers continue to snap up hot property across the region.
The newly launched The Sanctuary estate in Port Macquarie sold its Stage 1 pre-sale lots to customers within just four days of expressions of interests going live.
Stage 2 is already being released now by experienced property and finance specialists, CW Group, to help keep pace with the demand for new lots.
CW Group sales director, Robyn Valmadre, said almost all of the interest came from local buyers who jumped at the opportunity to be part of the new estate.
“Within four days of CW Group announcing the pre-release to buyers who had registered their interest, 90 per cent of the 31 home sites, ranging in size from 453-795m2, went under contract,” Mrs Vlamadre said.
“Port Macquarie residents were attracted to the boutique size, elevated position and green nature of The Sanctuary.”
Buyers will be able to build from early 2022.
CW Group Founder and CEO, Damien Gwynne said The Sanctuary offered families, and couples like Dean Glen-Holmes and his partner Kayla Steizer, the opportunity to build their dream home in a bustling coastal town.
“Port Macquarie has so much to offer on a lifestyle front. It’s a dream location for those of any age who want to live in a coastal region with a lively atmosphere,” Mr Gwynne said.
“It’s an ideal location for those who love to enjoy a lifestyle of leisure, with the area boasting vibrant cafe cultures, buzzing restaurants, two major shopping centres, cinemas and the contemporary theatre Glasshouse.”
A first homebuyer, Mr Glen-Holmes, 28, said he was sniffing around the market for a chance to break in at an affordable price. He estimates the land and house value for a three bedroom home with study to be much cheaper than an established home.
“For me this was a gateway in to the market,” he said.
“It was time to secure something before I was priced out. It’s a leafy estate, and they’ll be keeping as many trees as possible. It has an elevated position and you can get a nice breeze up here.
He said he was comparing this to the other estates, but chose the Sanctuary because it was ‘flat, affordable and reasonably priced’.
“This seems worth it,” he said.
“Finding an established home in Port at the moment is hard, especially something in my budget.”
He said the time to buy and take advantage of booming house values, was now.
“I think the market’s only going to keep going up from here.”
